First Reading1 Kings 8:1-7, 9-13

From the First Book of Kings

1Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel with all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel,to King Solomon in Jerusalem,to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.2All the men of Israel assembled themselves to King Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.3All the elders of Israel came, and the priests picked up the ark.4They brought up the Lord’s ark,the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent. The priests and the Levites brought these up.5King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattlethat could not be counted or numbered for multitude.6The priests brought in the ark of the Lord’s covenant to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house,to the most holy place, even under the cherubim’s wings.7For the cherubim spread their wings out over the place of the ark,and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above. verse 8 is not read9There was nothing in the ark except the two stone tabletswhich Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.10It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the Lord’s house,11so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud;for the Lord’s glory filled the Lord’s house.

12Then Solomon said,“The Lord has saidthat he would dwell in the thick darkness.13I have surely built you a house of habitation,a place for you to dwell in forever.”

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 132:6-7, 8-10

6Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar.7“We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool.”

8Arise, Lord, into your resting place, you, and the ark of your strength.9Let your priests be clothed with righteousness.Let your saints shout for joy!10For your servant David’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.

GospelMark 6:53-56

From the Gospel according to Mark

53When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.54When they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him,55and ran around that whole region, and began to bring thosewho were sick on their mats to where they heard he was.56Wherever he entered—into villages, or into cities, or into the country—they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged himthat they might just touch the fringe of his garment;and as many as touched him were made well.

EpistleLectio

Léctio libri Sapiéntiæ

Eccli 45:1-6

Lesson from the book of Ecclesiasticus

Ecclus 45:1-6

Beloved of God and men, whose memory is held in benediction. He made him like the Saints in glory, and magnified him in the fear of his enemies, and with his words He made prodigies to cease. He glorified him in the sight of kings, and gave him Commandments in the sight of his people, and revealed to him His glory. He sanctified him in his faith and meekness, and chose him out of all flesh. For He heard him and his voice, and brought him into a cloud. And, face to face, He gave him the Commandments, the law of life and understanding.

Et omnis, qui relíquerit domum, vel fratres, aut soróres, aut patrem, aut matrem, aut uxórem, aut fílios, aut agros, propter nomen meum, céntuplum accípiet, et vitam ætérnam possidébit.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew

Matt 19:27-29.

At that time, Peter said to Jesus, Behold, we have left all and followed You; what then shall we have? And Jesus said to them, Amen I say to you that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man shall sit on the throne of His glory, shall also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting.

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
