From the Book of Isaiah
10Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him.He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin,he will see his offspring. He will prolong his daysand the Lord’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.11After the suffering of his soul,he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself;and he will bear their iniquities.
4For the Lord’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness.5He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of the Lord.
18Behold, the Lord’s eye is on those who fear him,on those who hope in his loving kindness,19to deliver their soul from death,to keep them alive in famine.
20Our soul has waited for the Lord.He is our help and our shield.
22Let your loving kindness be on us, Lord, since we have hoped in you.
From the Letter to the Hebrews
14Having then a great high priestwho has passed through the heavens,Jesus, the Son of God,let’s hold tightly to our confession.15For we don’t have a high priestwho can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.16Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercyand may find grace for help in time of need.
From the Gospel according to Mark
or Mark 10:42-45
35James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying,“Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”
36He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
37They said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit,one at your right handand one at your left hand, in your glory.”
38But Jesus said to them,“You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptismthat I am baptized with?”
39They said to him, “We are able.”
Jesus said to them,“You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptismthat I am baptized with;40but to sit at my right handand at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”
41When the ten heard it,they began to be indignant toward James and John.
42Jesus summoned them and said to them,“You know that theywho are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.43But it shall not be so among you,but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.44Whoever of you wants to become first among you shall be bondservant of all.45For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Omnia, quæ fecísti nobis, Dómine, in vero judício fecísti, quia peccávimus tibi et mandátis tuis non obœdívimus: sed da glóriam nómini tuo, et fac nobíscum secúndum multitúdinem misericórdiæ tuæ.

Dan 3:31; 3:29; 3:35
All that You have done to us, O Lord, You have done in true judgment; because we have sinned against You, and we have not obeyed your commandments; but give glory to Your name, and deal with us according to the multitude of Your mercy.
Ps 118:1
Happy are they whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.
Glory Be to the Father…
All that You have done to us, O Lord, You have done in true judgment; because we have sinned against You, and we have not obeyed your commandments; but give glory to Your name, and deal with us according to the multitude of Your mercy.

O Lord, we beseech You, graciously grant Your faithful forgiveness and peace, that they may be cleansed of all sin and serve You with minds free from care.
For the Propagation of the Faith
O God, who desirest that all men should be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth: send forth, we beseech thee, labourers into thy harvest, and grant them grace to speak thy word with all trust, that thy words may run and be glorified, and that all nations may know thee, the one true God, and him whom thou hast sent, Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord.

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Ephésios
Ephes 5:15-21
Subjecti ínvicem in timóre Christi.
Lesson from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians
Eph 5:15-21
Brethren: See to it that you walk with care: not as unwise but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not become foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, for in that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father. Be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
Ps 144:15-16
Oculi ómnium in te sperant, Dómine: et tu das illis escam in témpore opportúno. ℣. Aperis tu manum tuam: et imples omne ánimal benedictióne. Allelúja, allelúja
Ps 107:2
Parátum cor meum, Deus, parátum cor meum: cantábo, et psallam tibi, glória mea. Allelúja.
Ps 144:15-16
The eyes of all look hopefully to You, O Lord, and You give them their food in due season.
℣.You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. Alleluia, alleluia.
Ps 107:2
℣.My heart is steadfast, O God; my heart is steadfast; I will sing and chant praise to You, my glory. Alleluia.
Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Joánnem
Joannes 4:46-53
In illo témpore: Erat quidam régulus, cujus fílius infirmabátur Caphárnaum.
Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to John
John 4:46-53
At that time, there was a certain royal official whose son was lying sick at Capharnaum. When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and besought Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Jesus therefore said to him, Unless you see signs and wonders, you do not believe. The royal official said to Him, Sir, come down before my child dies. Jesus said to him, Go your way, your son lives. The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and departed. But even as he was now going down, his servants met him and brought word saying that his son lived. He asked of them therefore the hour in which he had got better. And they told him, Yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him. The father knew then that it was at that very hour in which Jesus had said to him, Your son lives. And he himself believed, and his whole household.
Ps 136:1
Super flúmina Babylónis illic sédimus et flévimus: dum recordarémur tui, Sion.
Ps 136:1
By the streams of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered you, O Sion.
May these sacramental rites, O Lord, we beseech You, be our heavenly medicine and expel evil from our hearts.
For the Propagation of the Faith
Turn thine eyes, O God, our protector, and look upon the face of thy Christ, who hath given himself as a ransom for all, and grant that from the rising of the sun even unto the setting thereof thy name may be great among the Gentiles, and that in every place there may be sacrifice, and a clean oblation offered to thy name.
Through the same Christ our Lord…
Holy Trinity
It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who, together with Thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord: not in the oneness of a single Person, but in the Trinity of one substance. For what we believe by Thy revelation of Thy glory, the same do we believe of Thy Son, the same of the Holy Ghost, without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and everlasting Godhead, distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored. Which the Angels and Archangels, the Cherubim also and Seraphim do praise: who cease not daily to cry out, with one voice saying:
Ps 118:49-50
Meménto verbi tui servo tuo, Dómine, in quo mihi spem dedísti: hæc me consoláta est in humilitáte mea.
Ps 118:49-50
Remember Your word to Your servant, O Lord, since You have given me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction.
Ut sacris, Dómine, reddámur digni munéribus: fac nos, quǽsumus, tuis semper obœdíre mandátis.
Pro Propagatione Fidei
Redemptiónis nostræ múnere vegetáti: quǽsumus, Dómine; ut hoc perpétuæ salútis auxílio, fides semper vera profíciat.
Per Dominum…
That we may be made worthy, O Lord, of Your sacred gifts, make us, we beseech You, ever obedient to Your commandments.
For the Propagation of the Faith
Revived by this atoning sacrifice, we beseech thee, O Lord, that by means of this help to eternal salvation true Faith may ever advance.
Through our Lord…
