First ReadingHebrews 3:7-14

From the Letter to the Hebrews

7Therefore, even as the Holy Spirit says,

“Today if you will hear his voice,8don’t harden your hearts as in the rebellion,in the day of the trial in the wilderness,9where your fathers tested me and tried me,and saw my deeds for forty years.10Therefore I was displeased with that generation, and said, ‘They always err in their heart, but they didn’t know my ways.’11As I swore in my wrath,‘They will not enter into my rest.’”

12Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there might be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief,in falling away from the living God;13but exhort one another day by day,so long as it is called “today”,lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.14For we have become partakers of Christ,if we hold the beginning of our confidence firm to the end,

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 95:6-7c, 8-9, 10-11

6Oh come, let’s worship and bow down.Let’s kneel before the Lord, our Maker,7for he is our God.We are the people of his pasture, and the sheep in his care.Today, oh that you would hear his voice!

8Don’t harden your heart, as at Meribah,as in the day of Massah in the wilderness,9when your fathers tempted me,tested me, and saw my work.

10Forty long years I was grieved with that generation, and said, “They are a people who err in their heart. They have not known my ways.”11Therefore I swore in my wrath,“They won’t enter into my rest.”

GospelMark 1:40-45

From the Gospel according to Mark

40A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him,and saying to him,“If you want to, you can make me clean.”

41Being moved with compassion,he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to.Be made clean.”42When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from himand he was made clean.43He strictly warned him and immediately sent him out,44and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priestand offer for your cleansing the thingswhich Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”

45But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter,so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places.People came to him from everywhere.

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Philippénses

Philipp 3:7-12

Lesson from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Philippians

Phil 3:7-12

Brethren: The things that were gain to me, these, for the sake of Christ, I have counted loss. Nay more, I count everything loss because of the excelling knowledge of Jesus Christ, my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I count them as dung that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a justice of my own, which is from the Law, but that which is from faith in Christ, the justice from God based upon faith; so that I may know Him and the power of His Resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings: become like to Him in death, in the hope that somehow I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained this, or already have been made perfect, but I press on hoping that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of me.

Osee 14:6

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Matthǽum

Matt 11:25-30

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew

Matt 11:25-30

At that time, Jesus spoke and said, I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You hid these things from the wise and prudent, and revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, for such was Your good pleasure. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and him to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden light.

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
