First ReadingHebrews 10:1-10*

From the Letter to the Hebrews

1For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.2Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?3But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.4For it is impossible that the blood of bullsand goats should take away sins.5Therefore when he comes into the world, he says,

“You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.6You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.7Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me)to do your will, O God.’”

8Previously saying,“Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offeringsand sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (thosewhich are offered according to the law),9then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.”He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,10by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 40:2 and 4ad, 7-8a, 10, 11*

2I waited patiently for the Lord.He turned to me, and heard my cry.4He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God.Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

7Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire. You have opened my ears. You have not required burnt offering and sin offering.8Then I said, “Behold, I have come.It is written about me in the book in the scroll.

10I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly.Behold, I will not seal my lips, Lord, you know.

11I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart.I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation.I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly.

GospelMark 3:31-35

From the Gospel according to Mark

31His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him.32A multitude was sitting around him,and they told him,“Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you.”

33He answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”34Looking around at those who sat around him,he said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!35For whoever does the will of God is my brother,my sister, and mother.”

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Corínthios

1 Cor 4:9-14

Lesson from the first letter of St Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians

1 Cor. 4:9-14

Brethren: We have been made a spectacle to the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, but we are without honor! To this very hour we hunger and thirst, and we are naked and buffeted, and have no fixed abode. And we toil, working with our own hands. We are reviled and we bless, we are persecuted and we bear with it, we are maligned and we entreat, we have become as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all, even until now! I write these things not to put you to shame, but to admonish you as my dearest children, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 12:32-34

In illo témpore: Dixit Jesus discípulis suis: Nolíte timére, pusíllus grex, quia complácuit Patri vestro dare vobis regnum.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 12:32-34

At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, Do not be afraid, little flock, for it has pleased your Father to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms. Make for yourselves purses that do not grow old, a treasure unfailing in heaven, where neither thief draws near nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.

Common

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
