First ReadingIsaiah 56:1, 6-7

From the Book of Isaiah

1The Lord says:

“Maintain justiceand do what is right, for my salvation is nearand my righteousness will soon be revealed. verses 2–5 are not read6Also the foreigners who join themselves to the Lordto serve him,and to love the Lord’s name,to be his servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath from profaning it,and holds fast my covenant,7I will bring these to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer.Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar;for my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 67:2-3, 5, 6, 8

2May God be merciful to us, bless us,and cause his face to shine on us.3That your way may be known on earth, and your salvation among all nations,

5Oh let the nations be glad and sing for joy,for you will judge the peoples with equity, and govern the nations on earth.

6Let the peoples praise you, God.Let all the peoples praise you.

8God will bless us.All the ends of the earth shall fear him.

Second ReadingRomans 11:13-15, 29-32

From the Letter of Paul to the Romans

13For I speak to you who are Gentiles.Since then as I am an apostle to Gentiles,I glorify my ministry,14if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them.15For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of the world, what would their acceptance be,but life from the dead? verses 16–28 are not read29For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.30For as you in time past were disobedient to God,but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,31even so these also have now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they may also obtain mercy.32For God has bound all to disobedience, that he might have mercy on all.

GospelMatthew 15:21-28

From the Gospel according to Matthew

21Jesus went out from thereand withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.22Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me,Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”

23But he answered her not a word.

His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away;for she cries after us.”

24But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyonebut the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

25But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”

26But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s breadand throw it to the dogs.”

27But she said, “Yes,Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbswhich fall from their masters’ table.”

28Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith!Be it done to you even as you desire.”And her daughter was healed from that hour.

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Corínthios

1 Cor 12:2-11

Lesson from the first letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians

1 Cor. 12:2-11

Brethren: You know that when you were Gentiles, you went to dumb idols according as you were led. Wherefore I give you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God, says Anathema to Jesus. And no one can say Jesus is Lord, except in the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of ministries, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of workings, but the same God, Who works all things in all. Now the manifestation of the Spirit is given to everyone for profit. To one through the Spirit is given the utterance of wisdom; and to another the utterance of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; to another faith, in the same Spirit; to another the gift of healing, in the one Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the distinguishing of spirits; to another various kinds of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues. But all these things are the work of one and the same Spirit, Who allots to everyone according as He will.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 18:9-14

Jejúno bis in sábbato: décimas do ómnium, quæ possídeo.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 18:9-14

At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves as being just and despised others. Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and began to pray thus within himself: ‘O God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of men, robbers, dishonest, adulterers, or even like this publican. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I possess.’ But the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me the sinner!’ I tell you, this man went back to his home justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.

Ps 24:1-3

Ps 24:1-3

To You I lift up my soul, O Lord. In You, O my God, I trust; let me not be put to shame, let not my enemies exult over me. No one who waits for You shall be put to shame.

PrefacePrefatio

Holy Trinity

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who, together with Thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord: not in the oneness of a single Person, but in the Trinity of one substance. For what we believe by Thy revelation of Thy glory, the same do we believe of Thy Son, the same of the Holy Ghost, without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and everlasting Godhead, distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored. Which the Angels and Archangels, the Cherubim also and Seraphim do praise: who cease not daily to cry out, with one voice saying:
