First ReadingColossians 2:6-15

From the Letter of Paul to the Colossians

6As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him,7rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.

8Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elemental spirits of the world, and not after Christ.9For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily,10and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power.11In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands,in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh,in the circumcision of Christ,12having been buried with him in baptism,in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God,who raised him from the dead.13You were dead through your trespassesand the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,14wiping out the handwriting in ordinanceswhich was against us.He has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.15Having stripped the principalities and the powers,he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 145:1b-2, 8-9, 10-11

1I will exalt you, my God, the King.I will praise your name forever and ever.2Every day I will praise you.I will extol your name forever and ever.

8The Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.9The Lord is good to all.His tender mercies are over all his works.

10All your works will give thanks to you, Lord.Your saints will extol you.11They will speak of the glory of your kingdom, and talk about your power,

GospelLuke 6:12-19

From the Gospel according to Luke

12In these days, he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.13When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:14Simon, whom he also named Peter;Andrew, his brother;James; John;Philip; Bartholomew;15Matthew; Thomas;James the son of Alphaeus;Simon who was called the Zealot;16Judas the son of James;and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.

17He came down with them and stood on a level place, with a crowd of his disciplesand a great number of the people from all Judeaand Jerusalem and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases,18as well as those who were troubled by unclean spirits;and they were being healed.19All the multitude sought to touch him,for power came out of him and healed them all.

CollectOratio

1 Cor 4:9-14

Lesson from the first letter of St Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians

1 Cor. 4:9-14

Brethren: We have been made a spectacle to the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, but we are without honor! To this very hour we hunger and thirst, and we are naked and buffeted, and have no fixed abode. And we toil, working with our own hands. We are reviled and we bless, we are persecuted and we bear with it, we are maligned and we entreat, we have become as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all, even until now! I write these things not to put you to shame, but to admonish you as my dearest children, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 12:32-34

In illo témpore: Dixit Jesus discípulis suis: Nolíte timére, pusíllus grex, quia complácuit Patri vestro dare vobis regnum.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 12:32-34

At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, Do not be afraid, little flock, for it has pleased your Father to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms. Make for yourselves purses that do not grow old, a treasure unfailing in heaven, where neither thief draws near nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
