First ReadingActs 13:26-33

From the Acts of the Apostles

26“Brothers, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God,the word of this salvation is sent out to you.27For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they didn’t know him,nor the voices of the prophetswhich are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.28Though they found no cause for death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.29When they had fulfilled all thingsthat were written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.30But God raised him from the dead,31and he was seen for many days by thosewho came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.32We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,33that God has fulfilled this to us,their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm,

‘You are my Son.Today I have become your father.’

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 2:6-7, 8-9, 10-11ab

6“Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”7I will tell of the decree:The Lord said to me, “You are my son.Today I have become your father.

8Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.9You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

10Now therefore be wise, you kings.Be instructed, you judges of the earth.11Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

GospelJohn 14:1-6

From the Gospel according to John

1“Don’t let your heart be troubled.Believe in God.Believe also in me.2In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you.I am going to prepare a place for you.3If I go and prepare a place for you,I will come again and will receive you to myself;that where I am, you may be there also.4You know where I go, and you know the way.”

5Thomas said to him,“Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.No one comes to the Father, except through me.

Lord Jesus Christ, Who didst gift thine holy servant Paul with great love that he might preach the mystery of thy cross, and hast been pleased that through him a new family should grow up in thy Church, grant unto us at his prayers that upon earth we may so call thy sufferings to mind as worthily to gain the fruit thereof in heaven.

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Corinthios

1 Cor 1:17-25.

Lesson from the first letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians

1 Cor 1:17-25.

Brothers: Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not in wisdom of speech, lest the cross of Christ should be made void. For the word of the cross, to them indeed that perish, is foolishness; but to them that are saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God. For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the prudence of the prudent I will reject. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe. For both the Jews require signs, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews indeed a stumbling-block, and unto the Gentiles foolishness: But unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

GradualGraduale

Allelúja, allelúja.

2 Cor 5:15

Alleluja, alleluja

2 Cor 5:15

And Christ died for all; that they also who live, may not now live to themselves, but unto him who died for them, and rose again. Alleluja.

Rom 8:17

And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God, and joint heirs with Christ: yet so, if we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him. Alleluja.

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 10:1-9

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 10:1-9

At that time, the Lord appointed seventy-two others, and sent them forth two by two before Him into every town and place where He Himself was about to come. And He said to them, The harvest indeed is great, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers into His harvest. Go. Behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves. Carry neither purse, nor wallet, nor sandals, and greet no one on the way. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’ And if a son of peace be there, your peace will rest upon him; but if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they have; for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. And whatever town you enter, and they receive you, eat what is set before you, and cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’

Paschalis

Easter

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, at all times to praise Thee, O Lord, but more gloriously especially in this season when Christ our Pasch was sacrificed. For He is the Lamb Who hath taken away the sins of the world: Who by dying hath destroyed our death: and by rising again hath restored us to life. And therefore with Angels and Archangels, with Thrones and Dominations, and with all the hosts of the heavenly army, we sing the hymn of Thy glory, evermore saying:
