First ReadingGenesis 3:9-15

From the Book of Genesis

9The Lord God called to the man,and said to him, “Where are you?”

10The man said, “I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked;so I hid myself.”

11God said, “Who told you that you were naked?Have you eaten from the treethat I commanded you not to eat from?”

12The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me,she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

13The Lord God said to the woman, “What have you done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

14The Lord God said to the serpent,

“Because you have done this, you are cursed above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. You shall go on your bellyand you shall eat dust all the days of your life.15I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 130:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8

1Out of the depths I have cried to you, Lord.2Lord, hear my voice.Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.

3If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,Lord, who could stand?4But there is forgiveness with you, therefore you are feared.

5I wait for the Lord.My soul waits.I hope in his word.6My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.

7Israel, hope in the Lord, for there is loving kindness with the Lord.Abundant redemption is with him.8He will redeem Israel from all their sins.

Second Reading2 Corinthians 4:13—5:1

From the Second Letter of Paul to the Corinthians

13But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written,“I believed, and therefore I spoke.”We also believe, and therefore we also speak,14knowing that hewho raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also through Jesus, and will present us with you.15For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

16Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward person is decaying, yet our inward person is renewed day by day.17For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us moreand more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory,18while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

1For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved,we have a building from God,a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

GospelMark 3:20-35

From the Gospel according to Mark

20The multitude came together again,so that they could not so much as eat bread.21When his friends heard it, they went out to seize him;for they said, “He is insane.”22The scribes who came down from Jerusalem said,“He has Beelzebul,”and, “By the prince of the demons he casts out the demons.”

23He summoned them and said to them in parables,“How can Satan cast out Satan?24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.25If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.26If Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he can’t stand, but has an end.27But no one can enter into the house of the strong man to plunder unless he first binds the strong man;then he will plunder his house.

28“Most certainly I tell you,all sins of the descendants of man will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme;29but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation.”30— because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

31His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him.32A multitude was sitting around him,and they told him,“Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you.”

33He answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”34Looking around at those who sat around him,he said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!35For whoever does the will of God is my brother,my sister, and mother.”

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Romános

Rom 8:18-23

Lesson from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Romans

Rom 8:18-23

Brethren: I reckon that the sufferings of the present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory to come that will be revealed in us. For the eager longing of creation awaits the revelation of the sons of God. For creation was made subject to vanity - not by its own will but by reason of Him Who made it subject - in hope, because creation itself also will be delivered from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the sons of God. For we know that all creation groans and travails in pain until now. And not only it, but we ourselves also who have the first-fruits of the Spirit - we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption as sons of God, the redemption of our body, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ps 9:5; 9:10

Deus, qui sedes super thronum, et júdicas æquitátem: esto refúgium páuperum in tribulatióne. Allelúja.

Ps. 78:9-10

Pardon our sins, O Lord; why should the nations say, Where is their God?

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 5:1-11

Ascéndens autem in unam navim, quæ erat Simónis, rogávit eum a terra redúcere pusíllum.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 5:1-11

At that time, while the crowds were pressing upon Jesus to hear the word of God, He was standing by Lake Genesareth. And He saw two boats moored by the lake, but the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. And getting into one of the boats, the one that was Simon’s, He asked him to put out a little from the land. And sitting down, He began to teach the crowds from the boat. But when He had ceased speaking, He said to Simon, Put out into the deep, and lower your nets for a catch. And Simon answered and said to Him, Master, the whole night through we have toiled and have taken nothing; but at Your word I will lower the net. And when they had done so, they enclosed a great number of fishes, but their net was breaking. And they beckoned to their comrades in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he and all who were with him were amazed at the catch of fish they had made; and so were also James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Do not be afraid; henceforth you shall catch men. And when they had brought their boats to land, they left all and followed Him.

Holy Trinity

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who, together with Thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord: not in the oneness of a single Person, but in the Trinity of one substance. For what we believe by Thy revelation of Thy glory, the same do we believe of Thy Son, the same of the Holy Ghost, without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and everlasting Godhead, distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored. Which the Angels and Archangels, the Cherubim also and Seraphim do praise: who cease not daily to cry out, with one voice saying:
