1The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

verses 2–3 are not read4“‘These are the set feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their appointed season.5In the first month,on the fourteenth day of the month in the evening,is the Lord’s Passover.6On the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread to the Lord.Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.7In the first day you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no regular work.8But you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord seven days.In the seventh day is a holy convocation. You shall do no regular work.’”

9The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,10“Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘When you have come into the landwhich I give to you,and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest.11He shall wave the sheaf before the Lord,to be accepted for you.On the next day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 81:3-4, 5-6, 10-11ab

3Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine, the pleasant lyre with the harp.4Blow the trumpet at the New Moon,at the full moon, on our feast day.

5For it is a statute for Israel,an ordinance of the God of Jacob.6He appointed it in Joseph for a covenant, when he went out over the land of Egypt,I heard a language that I didn’t know.

10There shall be no strange god in you, neither shall you worship any foreign god.11I am the Lord, your God,who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

GospelMatthew 13:54-58

From the Gospel according to Matthew

54Coming into his own country,he taught them in their synagogue,so that they were astonished and said,“Where did this man get this wisdomand these mighty works?55Isn’t this the carpenter’s son?Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers James,Joses, Simon, and Judas?56Aren’t all of his sisters with us?Where then did this man get all of these things?”57They were offended by him.

But Jesus said to them,“A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country and in his own house.”58He didn’t do many mighty works therebecause of their unbelief.

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Timótheum

2 Tim 2:1-7

Caríssime: Confortáre in grátia, quæ est in Christo Jesu: et quæ audísti a me per multos testes, hæc comménda fidélibus homínibus, qui idónei erunt et alios docére.

Lesson from the second letter of St. Paul the Apostle to Timothy

2 Tim. 2:1-7

Dearly beloved: Be strengthened in the grace which is in Christ Jesus; and the things that you have heard from me through many witnesses, commend to trustworthy men who shall be competent in turn to teach others. Conduct yourself in work as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as God's soldier entangles himself in worldly affairs, that he may please him whose approval he has secured. And again, one who enters a contest is not crowned unless he has competed according to the rules. The farmer who toils must be the first to partake of the fruits. Take in what I tell you, for the Lord will give you understanding in all things.

GradualGraduale

Ps 118:52-53

Memor fui judiciórum tuórum a sǽculo, Dómine, et consolátus sum: deféctio ténuit me pro peccatóribus derelinquéntibus legem tuam.

Ps 39:11

Ps 118:52-53

I remember your ordinances of old, O Lord, and I am comforted. Indignation seizes me because of the wicked who forsake Your law.

Ps 39:11

℣.Your justice I kept not hid within my heart; Your faithfulness and Your salvation I have spoken of. Alleluia, alleluia.

Ecclus. 49:3-4

He was directed by God to the repentance of the nation, and he took away the abominations of wickedness. He turned to God with his whole heart, and though times were evil, he practiced virtue.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 10:1-9

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 10:1-9

At that time, the Lord appointed seventy-two others, and sent them forth two by two before Him into every town and place where He Himself was about to come. And He said to them, The harvest indeed is great, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers into His harvest. Go. Behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves. Carry neither purse, nor wallet, nor sandals, and greet no one on the way. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’ And if a son of peace be there, your peace will rest upon him; but if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they have; for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. And whatever town you enter, and they receive you, eat what is set before you, and cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’

Pr 3:9, 27

Honor the Lord with your wealth, and give Him the first fruits of all your produce. Do not withhold him from doing good who is able; if you are able, do good yourself also.

Common

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
