First ReadingActs 14:21-27

From the Acts of the Apostles

21When they had preached the Good News tothat city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra,Iconium, and Antioch,22strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into God’s Kingdom.23When they had appointed elders for them in every assembly, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord on whom they had believed.

24They passed through Pisidia and came to Pamphylia.25When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.26From there they sailed to Antioch, from where they had been committed to the grace of God for the workwhich they had fulfilled.27When they had arrivedand had gathered the assembly together, they reported all the things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 145:8-9, 10-11, 12-13ab*

8The Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.9The Lord is good to all.His tender mercies are over all his works.

10All your works will give thanks to you, Lord.Your saints will extol you.11They will speak of the glory of your kingdom, and talk about your power,

12to make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, the glory of the majesty of his kingdom.13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.Your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is faithful in all his words, and loving in all his deeds.

Second ReadingRevelation 21:1-5a

From the Book of Revelation

1I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more.2I saw the holy city,New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.3I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying,“Behold, God’s dwelling is with people;and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.Death will be no more;neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.”

5He who sits on the throne said,“Behold, I am making all things new.”He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”

GospelJohn 13:31-33a, 34-35

From the Gospel according to John

31When he had gone out,Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.32If God has been glorified in him,God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately.33Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jews,‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you.34A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another.Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.35By this everyone will know that you are my disciples,if you have love for one another.”

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Jacóbi Apóstoli

Jas 1:17-21

Lesson from the letter of St. James the Apostle

Jas 1:17-21

Dearly beloved: Every best gift, and every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of alteration. For of his own will hath he begotten us by the word of truth, that we might be some beginning of his creatures. You know, my dearest brethren. And let every man be swift to hear, but slow to speak, and slow to anger. For the anger of man worketh not the justice of God. Wherefore casting away all uncleanness, and abundance of naughtiness, with meekness receive the ingrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

GradualGraduale

Allelúja, allelúja.

Ps 117:16.

Déxtera Dómini fecit virtútem: déxtera Dómini exaltávit me. Allelúja.

Rom 6:9

Alleluia, alleluia.

Ps 117:16

The right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength: the right hand of the Lord hath exalted me: Alleluia.

Rom 6:9

Knowing that Christ rising again from the dead, dieth now no more, death shall no more have dominion over him. Alleluia.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Joánnem

Joannes 16:5-14

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to John

John 16:5-14

At that time: Jesus said to His disciples: I go to him that sent me, and none of you asketh me: Whither goest thou? But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow hath filled your heart. But I tell you the truth: it is expedient to you that I go: for if I go not, the Paraclete will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. And when he is come, he will convince the world of sin, and of justice, and of judgment. Of sin: because they believed not in me. And of justice: because I go to the Father; and you shall see me no longer. And of judgment: because the prince of this world is already judged. I have yet many things to say to you: but you cannot bear them now. But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will teach you all truth. For he shall not speak of himself; but what things soever he shall hear, he shall speak; and the things that are to come, he shall shew you. He shall glorify me; because he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it to you.

Ps 65:1-2; 85:16

Shout with joy to God, all the earth, sing ye a psalm to His Name: come and hear, and I will tell you, all ye that fear God, what great things the Lord hath done for my soul, alleluia.

Paschalis

Easter

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, at all times to praise Thee, O Lord, but more gloriously especially in this season when Christ our Pasch was sacrificed. For He is the Lamb Who hath taken away the sins of the world: Who by dying hath destroyed our death: and by rising again hath restored us to life. And therefore with Angels and Archangels, with Thrones and Dominations, and with all the hosts of the heavenly army, we sing the hymn of Thy glory, evermore saying:
