First ReadingDeuteronomy 10:12-22

From the Book of Deuteronomy

12Now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you,but to fear the Lord your God,to walk in all his ways,to love him,and to serve the Lord your God with all your heartand with all your soul,13to keep the Lord’s commandments and statutes, which I command you today for your good?14Behold, to the Lord your God belongs heaven, the heaven of heavens, and the earth, with all that is therein.15Only the Lord had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their offspring after them, even you above all peoples, as it is today.16Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.17For the Lord your God,he is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the awesome, who doesn’t respect persons or take bribes.18He executes justice for the fatherless and widowand loves the foreigner in giving him food and clothing.19Therefore love the foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.20You shall fear the Lord your God.You shall serve him.You shall cling to him, and you shall swear by his name.21He is your praise, and he is your God,who has done for you these greatand awesome things which your eyes have seen.22Your fathers went down into Egypt with seventy persons;and now the Lord your God has made you as the stars of the sky for multitude.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 147:12-13, 14-15, 19-20

12Praise the Lord, Jerusalem!Praise your God, Zion!13For he has strengthened the bars of your gates. He has blessed your children within you.

14He makes peace in your borders. He fills you with the finest of the wheat.15He sends out his commandment to the earth. His word runs very swiftly.

19He shows his word to Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances to Israel.20He has not done this for just any nation. They don’t know his ordinances.Praise the Lord!

GospelMatthew 17:22-27

From the Gospel according to Matthew

22While they were staying in Galilee,Jesus said to them,“The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,23and they will kill him,and the third day he will be raised up.”

They were exceedingly sorry.

24When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?”25He said, “Yes.”

When he came into the house,Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”

26Peter said to him, “From strangers.”

Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt.27But, lest we cause them to stumble,go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up.When you have opened its mouth, you will find a stater coin.Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Corínthios.

1 Cor 15:1-10

Lesson from the first letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians

1 Cor. 15:1-10

Brethren: I recall to your minds the Gospel that I preached to you, which also you received, wherein also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold it fast, as I preached it to you - unless you have believed to no purpose. For I delivered to you first of all, what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day, according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, and after that to the Eleven. Then He was seen by more than five hundred brethren at one time, many of whom are with us still, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by the Apostles. And last of all, as by one born out of due time, He was seen also by me. For I am the least of the Apostles, and am not worthy to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace in me has not been fruitless.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Marcum.

Marc 7:31-37

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Mark

Mark 7:31-37

At that time, Jesus departing from the district of Tyre came by way of Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the district of Decapolis. And they brought to Him one deaf and dumb, and entreated Him to lay His hand upon him. And taking him aside from the crowd, He put His fingers into the man’s ears, and spitting, He touched his tongue. And looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, Ephpheta, that is, Be opened. And his ears were at once opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he began to speak correctly. And He charged them to tell no one. But the more He charged them, so much the more did they continue to publish it. And so much the more did they wonder, saying, He has done all things well. He has made both the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak.

Common

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
