Ps. 80:17

He fed them with the best of wheat, alleluia: and filled them with honey from the rock, alleluia, alleluia.

Ps 80:2

Sing joyfully to God our strength; acclaim the God of Jacob.

Glory Be to the Father…

He fed them with the best of wheat, alleluia: and filled them with honey from the rock, alleluia, alleluia.

O God, You Who gave the Holy Spirit to Your apostles, grant that the devout prayers of Your people may be effective and, as You have given us faith, also grant us peace.

Lesson from the Acts of the Apostles

Acts 10:34, 42-48

In those days, Peter opening his mouth, said, Men, brethren, the Lord charged us to preach to the people and to testify that He it is Who has been appointed by God to be judge of the living and of the dead. To Him all the prophets bear witness, that through His Name all who believe in Him may receive forgiveness of sins. While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came upon all who were listening to his message. And the faithful of the circumcision, who had come with Peter, were amazed, because on the Gentiles also the grace of the Holy Spirit had been poured forth; for they heard them speaking in tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered, Can anyone refuse the water to baptize these, seeing that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did? And he ordered them to be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Alleluia, alleluia.

Acts 2:4

℣.The Apostles spoke in foreign tongues the wonderful works of God. Alleluia. (Kneel.)

℣.Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Your love.

Holy Spirit! Lord of light!

From Thy clear celestial height, Thy pure, beaming radiance give:

Come, Thou, Father of the poor!

Come, with treasures which endure!

Come, Thou light of all that live!

Thou of all consolers best,

Visiting the troubled breast,

Dost refreshing peace bestow:

Thou in toil art comfort sweet;

Pleasant coolness in the heat;

Solace in the midst of woe.

Light immortal! Light divine!

Visit Thou these hearts of Thine, And our inmost being fill.

If Thou take Thy grace away,

Nothing pure in man will stay;

All his good is turn’d to ill.

Heal our wounds - our strength renew;

On our dryness pour Thy dew;

Wash the stains of guilt away:

Bend the stubborn heart and will;

Melt the frozen, warm the chill;

Guide the steps that go astray.

Thou, on those who evermore

Thee confess and Thee adore,

In Thy sevenfold gifts descend.

Give them comfort when they die;

Give them life with Thee on high;

Give them joys which never end.

Amen. Alleluia.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to John

John 3:16-21

At that time, Jesus said to Nicodemus: God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that those who believe in Him may not perish, but may have life everlasting. For God did not send His Son into the world in order to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; but he who does not believe in Him is already judged, because he does not believe in the Name of the only-begotten Son of God. Now this is the judgment: The light has come into the world, yet men have loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, that his deeds may not be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light that his deeds may be made manifest, for they have been performed in God.

Ps. 17:14, 16

The Lord thundered from heaven, the Most High gave forth His voice; and the fountains of waters appeared, alleluia.

Graciously hallow these gifts, we beseech You, O Lord, and accepting the offering of the spiritual sacrifice, make us also an eternal offering to You.

Through our Lord…

Holy Spirit

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God: through Christ our Lord. Who ascending above all in the heavens and sitting at Thy Right Hand, poured out the Holy Spirit upon the children of adoption. Wherefore the whole world doth rejoice with overflowing joy; and the heavenly Hosts also and the angelic Powers sing together the hymn of Thy glory, evermore saying:

John 14:26

The Holy Spirit will teach you, alleluia: whatever I have said to you, alleluia, alleluia.

Be near to Your people, we beseech You, O Lord, and defend against the fury of the enemy those whom You have penetrated with Your heavenly sacrament.
