Advent 2028 England

From Sunday, 3 December 2028 to Sunday, 24 December 2028. The Sunday readings are from Year A, the weekdays from Year I (why).

Advent prepares for Christmas over four Sundays. The vestments are violet, and rose may be worn on the third Sunday, Gaudete Sunday. From 17 December the weekdays have their own readings, turning from the Lord’s coming at the end of time to his birth.

The 1962 Missal keeps the same four Sundays, with rose on Gaudete Sunday, and the Ember days on the Wednesday, Friday and Saturday after it.
