First ReadingIsaiah 62:1-5

From the Book of Isaiah

1For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness shines out like the dawn, and her salvation like a burning lamp.2The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You will be called by a new name, which the Lord’s mouth will name.3You will also be a crown of beauty in the Lord’s hand, and a royal diadem in your God’s hand.4You will not be called Forsaken any more, nor will your land be called Desolate any more;but you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah;for the Lord delights in you,and your land will be married.5For as a young man marries a virgin,so your sons will marry you.As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,so your God will rejoice over you.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 96:1 and 2a, 2b-3, 7-8a, 9-10ac*

1Sing to the Lord a new song!Sing to the Lord, all the earth.2Sing to the Lord!

2Bless his name!Proclaim his salvation from day to day!3Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.

7Ascribe to the Lord, you families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.8Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to his name.Bring an offering, and come into his courts.

9Worship the Lord in holy array.Tremble before him, all the earth.10Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”The world is also established. It can’t be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.

Second Reading1 Corinthians 12:4-11

From the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians

4Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.5There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.6There are various kinds of workings, but the same God who works all things in all.7But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.8For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,9to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,10and to another workings of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits,to another different kinds of languages, and to another the interpretation of languages.11But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

GospelJohn 2:1-11

From the Gospel according to John

1The third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee.Jesus’ mother was there.2Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding.3When the wine ran out,Jesus’ mother said to him,“They have no wine.”

4Jesus said to her,“Woman, what does that have to do with you and me?My hour has not yet come.”

5His mother said to the servants,“Whatever he says to you, do it.”

6Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.7Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.”So they filled them up to the brim.8He said to them, “Now draw some out,and take it to the ruler of the feast.”So they took it.9When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servantswho had drawn the water knew),the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom10and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!”11This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory;and his disciples believed in him.

Lesson from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Romans

Rom 12:6-16

Brethren: We have gifts differing according to the grace that has been given us, such as prophecy to be used according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, in ministering; or he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhorting; he who gives, in simplicity; he who presides, with carefulness; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without pretense. Hate what is evil, hold to what is good. Love one another with honor. Be not slothful in zeal; be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope. Be patient in tribulation, persevering in prayer. Share the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Be of one mind towards one another. Do not set your mind on high things but condescend to the lowly.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Joánnem.

Joann 2:1-11

Continuation of the Holy Gospel according to John

John 2:1-11

At that time, a marriage took place at Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now Jesus too was invited to the marriage, and also His disciples. And the wine having run short, the mother of Jesus said to Him, They have no wine. And Jesus said to her, What would you have me do, woman? My hour has not yet come. His mother said to the attendants, Do whatever He tells you. Now six stone water-jars were placed there, after the Jewish manner of purification, each holding two or three measures. Jesus said to them, Fill the jars with water. And they filled them to the brim. And Jesus said to them, Draw out now, and take to the chief steward. And they took it to him. Now when the chief steward had tasted the water after it had become wine, not knowing whence it was - though the attendants who had drawn the water knew, - the chief steward called the bridegroom, and said to him, Every man at first sets forth the good wine, and when they have drunk freely, then that which is poorer. But you have kept the good wine until now. This first of His signs Jesus worked at Cana of Galilee; and He manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

PrefacePrefatio

Holy Trinity

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who, together with Thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord: not in the oneness of a single Person, but in the Trinity of one substance. For what we believe by Thy revelation of Thy glory, the same do we believe of Thy Son, the same of the Holy Ghost, without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and everlasting Godhead, distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored. Which the Angels and Archangels, the Cherubim also and Seraphim do praise: who cease not daily to cry out, with one voice saying:

CommunionCommunio

Joann 2:7; 2:8; 2:9; 2:10-11

Dicit Dóminus: Implete hýdrias aqua et ferte architriclíno. Cum gustásset architriclínus aquam vinum factam, dicit sponso: Servásti bonum vinum usque adhuc. Hoc signum fecit Jesus primum coram discípulis suis.

John 2:7-11

The Lord said, Fill the jars with water and take to the chief steward. When the chief steward had tasted the water after it had become wine, he said to the bridegroom, You have kept the good wine until now. This first miracle Jesus worked in the presence of His disciples.
