First ReadingIsaiah 49:3, 5-6

From the Book of Isaiah

3He said to me, “You are my servant,Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” verse 4 is not read5Now the Lord, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, says to bring Jacob again to him,and to gather Israel to him,for I am honorable in the Lord’s eyes, and my God has become my strength.6Indeed, he says, “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel.I will also give you as a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.”

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 40:2, 4, 7-8, 8-9, 10

2I waited patiently for the Lord.He turned to me, and heard my cry.

4He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God.Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

7Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire. You have opened my ears. You have not required burnt offering and sin offering.8Then I said, “Behold, I have come.

8It is written about me in the book in the scroll.9I delight to do your will, my God.Yes, your law is within my heart.”

10I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly.Behold, I will not seal my lips, Lord, you know.

From the Gospel according to John

Fratres: Habéntes donatiónes secúndum grátiam, quæ data est nobis, differéntes: sive prophetíam secúndum ratiónem fídei, sive ministérium in ministrándo, sive qui docet in doctrína, qui exhortátur in exhortándo, qui tríbuit in simplicitáte, qui præest in sollicitúdine, qui miserétur in hilaritáte. Diléctio sine simulatióne. Odiéntes malum, adhæréntes bono: Caritáte fraternitátis ínvicem diligéntes: Honóre ínvicem præveniéntes: Sollicitúdine non pigri: Spíritu fervéntes: Dómino serviéntes: Spe gaudéntes: In tribulatióne patiéntes: Oratióni instántes: Necessitátibus sanctórum communicántes: Hospitalitátem sectántes. Lesson from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Romans

Rom 12:6-16

Brethren: We have gifts differing according to the grace that has been given us, such as prophecy to be used according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, in ministering; or he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhorting; he who gives, in simplicity; he who presides, with carefulness; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without pretense. Hate what is evil, hold to what is good. Love one another with honor. Be not slothful in zeal; be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope. Be patient in tribulation, persevering in prayer. Share the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Be of one mind towards one another. Do not set your mind on high things but condescend to the lowly.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Joánnem.

Joann 2:1-11

Continuation of the Holy Gospel according to John

John 2:1-11

At that time, a marriage took place at Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now Jesus too was invited to the marriage, and also His disciples. And the wine having run short, the mother of Jesus said to Him, They have no wine. And Jesus said to her, What would you have me do, woman? My hour has not yet come. His mother said to the attendants, Do whatever He tells you. Now six stone water-jars were placed there, after the Jewish manner of purification, each holding two or three measures. Jesus said to them, Fill the jars with water. And they filled them to the brim. And Jesus said to them, Draw out now, and take to the chief steward. And they took it to him. Now when the chief steward had tasted the water after it had become wine, not knowing whence it was - though the attendants who had drawn the water knew, - the chief steward called the bridegroom, and said to him, Every man at first sets forth the good wine, and when they have drunk freely, then that which is poorer. But you have kept the good wine until now. This first of His signs Jesus worked at Cana of Galilee; and He manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

PrefacePrefatio

Holy Trinity

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who, together with Thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord: not in the oneness of a single Person, but in the Trinity of one substance. For what we believe by Thy revelation of Thy glory, the same do we believe of Thy Son, the same of the Holy Ghost, without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and everlasting Godhead, distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored. Which the Angels and Archangels, the Cherubim also and Seraphim do praise: who cease not daily to cry out, with one voice saying:

Joann 2:7; 2:8; 2:9; 2:10-11

Dicit Dóminus: Implete hýdrias aqua et ferte architriclíno. Cum gustásset architriclínus aquam vinum factam, dicit sponso: Servásti bonum vinum usque adhuc. Hoc signum fecit Jesus primum coram discípulis suis.

John 2:7-11

The Lord said, Fill the jars with water and take to the chief steward. When the chief steward had tasted the water after it had become wine, he said to the bridegroom, You have kept the good wine until now. This first miracle Jesus worked in the presence of His disciples.
