First ReadingActs 15:22-31

From the Acts of the Apostles

22Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly,to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas:Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brothers.23They wrote these things by their hand:

“The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, to the brotherswho are of the Gentiles in Antioch,Syria, and Cilicia: greetings.24Because we have heard that somewho went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, ‘You must be circumcised and keep the law,’to whom we gave no commandment;25it seemed good to us,having come to one accord,to choose out menand send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,26men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves will also tell you the same things by word of mouth.28For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things:29that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves,it will be well with you. Farewell.”

30So, when they were sent off, they came to Antioch.Having gathered the multitude together, they delivered the letter.31When they had read it,they rejoiced over the encouragement.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 57:8-9, 10 and 12

8My heart is steadfast, God.My heart is steadfast.I will sing, yes, I will sing praises.9Wake up, my glory! Wake up, lute and harp!I will wake up the dawn.

10I will give thanks to you, Lord, among the peoples.I will sing praises to you among the nations.12Be exalted, God, above the heavens.Let your glory be over all the earth.

GospelJohn 15:12-17

From the Gospel according to John

12“This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.13Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.14You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.15No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father,I have made known to you.16You didn’t choose me,but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain;that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name,he may give it to you.

17“I command these things to you, that you may love one another.

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Thessalonicénses

1 Thess 2:2-9

Lesson from the first letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Thessalonians

1 Thess 2:2-9

Brethren: We had confidence in our God to preach to you the gospel of God amid much anxiety. For our exhortation was not from error, nor from impure motives, nor from guile. But as approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak not as pleasing men, but God, who proves our hearts. For at no time have we used words of flattery, as you know, nor any pretext for avarice, God is witness, nor have we sought glory from me, neither from you nor from others. Although as the apostles of Christ we could have claimed a position of honor among you, still while in your midst we were as children: as if a nurse were cherishing her own children, so we in our love for you would gladly have imparted to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own souls; because you had become most dear to us. For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil. We worked night and day so as not to be a burden to any of you while we preached to you the gospel of God.

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 10:1-9

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 10:1-9

At that time, the Lord appointed seventy-two others, and sent them forth two by two before Him into every town and place where He Himself was about to come. And He said to them, The harvest indeed is great, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers into His harvest. Go. Behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves. Carry neither purse, nor wallet, nor sandals, and greet no one on the way. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’ And if a son of peace be there, your peace will rest upon him; but if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they have; for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. And whatever town you enter, and they receive you, eat what is set before you, and cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’

PrefacePrefatio

Paschalis

Easter

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, at all times to praise Thee, O Lord, but more gloriously especially in this season when Christ our Pasch was sacrificed. For He is the Lamb Who hath taken away the sins of the world: Who by dying hath destroyed our death: and by rising again hath restored us to life. And therefore with Angels and Archangels, with Thrones and Dominations, and with all the hosts of the heavenly army, we sing the hymn of Thy glory, evermore saying:
