First ReadingIsaiah 55:1-3

From the Book of Isaiah

1“Hey! Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters!Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat!Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.2Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which doesn’t satisfy?Listen diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness.3Turn your ear, and come to me.Hear, and your soul will live.I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 145:8-9, 15-16, 17-18

8The Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.9The Lord is good to all.His tender mercies are over all his works.

15The eyes of all wait for you.You give them their food in due season.16You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and gracious in all his works.18The Lord is near to all those who call on him,to all who call on him in truth.

Second ReadingRomans 8:35, 37-39

From the Letter of Paul to the Romans

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?Could oppression, or anguish,or persecution, or famine,or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

verse 36 is not read37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.38For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s lovewhich is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

GospelMatthew 14:13-21

From the Gospel according to Matthew

13Now when Jesus heard this,he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place apart. When the multitudes heard it,they followed him on foot from the cities.

14Jesus went out, and he saw a great multitude. He had compassion on them and healed their sick.15When evening had come, his disciples came to him, saying, “This place is deserted, and the hour is already late.Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food.”

16But Jesus said to them, “They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

17They told him, “We only have here five loaves and two fish.”

18He said, “Bring them here to me.”19He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass;and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven,he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples;and the disciples gave to the multitudes.20They all ate and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of thatwhich remained left over from the broken pieces.21Those who ate were about five thousand men,in addition to women and children.

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Romános

Rom 6:19-23

Quem ergo fructum habuístis tunc in illis, in quibus nunc erubéscitis? Nam finis illórum mors est. Nunc vero liberáti a peccáto, servi autem facti Deo, habétis fructum vestrum in sanctificatiónem, finem vero vitam ætérnam. Stipéndia enim peccáti mors. Grátia autem Dei vita ætérna, in Christo Jesu, Dómino nostro.

Lesson from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Romans

Rom 6:19-23

Brethren: I speak in a human way because of the weakness of your flesh; for as you yielded your members as slaves of uncleanness and iniquity unto iniquity, so now yield your members as slaves of justice unto sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free as regards justice. But what fruit had you then from those things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of these things is death. But now set free from sin and become slaves to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and as your end, life everlasting. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is life everlasting in Christ Jesus our Lord.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Matthǽum

Matt 7:15-21

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew

Matt 7:15-21

At that time, Jesus said to His disciples: Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will know them. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father in heaven shall enter the kingdom of heaven.

Dan 3:40

Dan 3:40

As though it were holocausts of rams and bullocks, or thousands of fat lambs, so let our sacrifice be in Your presence today, that it may please You; for those who trust in You cannot be put to shame, O Lord.

SecretSecreta

O God, You Who have given us in one perfect sacrifice the fulfillment of the various sacrifices made under the Old Law, accept these sacrificial gifts offered You by Your devoted servants, and make them holy as You did the gifts of Abel, so that what each one of us has offered in praise of Your majesty may profit for the salvation of all.

PrefacePrefatio

Holy Trinity

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who, together with Thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord: not in the oneness of a single Person, but in the Trinity of one substance. For what we believe by Thy revelation of Thy glory, the same do we believe of Thy Son, the same of the Holy Ghost, without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and everlasting Godhead, distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored. Which the Angels and Archangels, the Cherubim also and Seraphim do praise: who cease not daily to cry out, with one voice saying:
