First ReadingEzekiel 34:11-12, 15-17

From the Book of Ezekiel

11“‘For the Lord GOD says:“Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.12As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the daythat he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad,so I will seek out my sheep.I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. verses 13–14 are not read15I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down,”says the Lord GOD.16“I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick;but I will destroy the fat and the strong.I will feed them in justice.”’

17“As for you, O my flock, the Lord GOD says:‘Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, the rams and the male goats.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 23:1-2, 2-3, 5-6

1The Lord is my shepherd;I shall lack nothing.2He makes me lie down in green pastures.

2He leads me beside still waters.3He restores my soul.He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

5You prepare a table before mein the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil.My cup runs over.6Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the Lord’s house forever.

Second Reading1 Corinthians 15:20-26, 28

From the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians

20But now Christ has been raised from the dead.He became the first fruit of those who are asleep.21For since death came by man,the resurrection of the dead also came by man.22For as in Adam all die,so also in Christ all will be made alive.23But each in his own order:Christ the first fruits, then those who are Christ’s at his coming.24Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to God the Father, when he will have abolished all ruleand all authority and power.25For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.26The last enemy that will be abolished is death. verse 27 is not read28When all things have been subjected to him, then the Son will also himself be subjected to himwho subjected all things to him, that God may be all in all.

GospelMatthew 25:31-46

From the Gospel according to Matthew

31“But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.32Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another,as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.33He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.34Then the King will tell those on his right hand,‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;35for I was hungry and you gave me food to eat.I was thirsty and you gave me drink.I was a stranger and you took me in.36I was naked and you clothed me.I was sick and you visited me.I was in prison and you came to me.’

37“Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,or thirsty and give you a drink?38When did we see you as a stranger and take you in,or naked and clothe you?39When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’

40“The King will answer them,‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’41Then he will say also to those on the left hand,‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal firewhich is prepared for the devil and his angels;42for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat;I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;43I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in;naked, and you didn’t clothe me;sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

44“Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry,or thirsty, or a stranger,or naked, or sick,or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

45“Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’46These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Matthǽum

Matt 24:15-35

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew

Matt 24:15-35

At that time, Jesus said to His disciples: When you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place - let him who reads understand - then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything from his house; and let him who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. But woe to those who are with child, or have infants at the breast in those days! But pray that your flight may not be in the winter, or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, nor will be. And unless those days had been shortened, no living creature would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. Then if anyone say to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise, and will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told it to you beforehand. If therefore they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the desert,’ do not go forth; ‘Behold, He is in the inner chambers,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes forth from the east and shines even to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Wherever the body is, there will the eagles be gathered together. But immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. And then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven; and then will all tribes of the earth mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with great power and majesty. And He will send forth His angels with a trumpet and a great sound, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch is now tender, and the leaves break forth, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the door. Amen I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all these things have been accomplished. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

PrefacePrefatio

Holy Trinity

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who, together with Thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord: not in the oneness of a single Person, but in the Trinity of one substance. For what we believe by Thy revelation of Thy glory, the same do we believe of Thy Son, the same of the Holy Ghost, without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and everlasting Godhead, distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored. Which the Angels and Archangels, the Cherubim also and Seraphim do praise: who cease not daily to cry out, with one voice saying:
