First Reading1 John 5:5-13

From the First Letter of John

5Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

6This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ;not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.7For there are three who testify:8the Spirit, the water, and the blood;and the three agree as one.9If we receive the witness of men,the witness of God is greater;for this is God’s testimonywhich he has testified concerning his Son.10He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimonythat God has given concerning his Son.11The testimony is this:that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.12He who has the Son has the life.He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life.

13These things I have written to youwho believe in the name of the Son of God,that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 147:12-13, 14-15, 19-20

12Praise the Lord, Jerusalem!Praise your God, Zion!13For he has strengthened the bars of your gates. He has blessed your children within you.

14He makes peace in your borders. He fills you with the finest of the wheat.15He sends out his commandment to the earth. His word runs very swiftly.

19He shows his word to Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances to Israel.20He has not done this for just any nation. They don’t know his ordinances.Praise the Lord!

GospelLuke 5:12-16

From the Gospel according to Luke

12While he was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man full of leprosy. When he saw Jesus,he fell on his face and begged him, saying, “Lord, if you want to,you can make me clean.”

13He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I want to.Be made clean.”

Immediately the leprosy left him.14He commanded him to tell no one,“But go your way and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”

15But the report concerning him spread much more, and great multitudes came together to hearand to be healed by him of their infirmities.16But he withdrew himself into the desert and prayed.

Titus 2:11-15

Beloved: The grace of God our Saviour has appeared to all men, instructing us, in order that, rejecting ungodliness and worldly lusts, we may live temperately and justly and piously in this world; looking for the blessed hope and glorious coming of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and cleanse for Himself an acceptable people, pursuing good works. Thus speak, and exhort, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Et ídeo cum Angelis et Archángelis, cum Thronis et Dominatiónibus cumque omni milítia cæléstis exércitus hymnum glóriæ tuæ cánimus, sine fine dicéntes.

Nativity

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God, for through the Mystery of the Word made flesh, the new light of Thy glory hath shone upon the eyes of our mind, so that while we acknowledge God in visible form, we may through Him be drawn to the love of things invisible. And therefore with Angels and Archangels, with Throne and Dominations, and with all the hosts of the heavenly army, we sing the hymn of Thy glory, evermore saying:
