First ReadingActs 15:7-21

From the Acts of the Apostles

7When there had been much discussion,Peter rose up and said to them,“Brothers, you know that a goodwhile ago God made a choice among youthat by my mouth the nations should hear the word of the Good News and believe.8God, who knows the heart, testified about them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just like he did to us.9He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.10Now therefore why do you tempt God,that you should put a yoke on the neck of the discipleswhich neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?11But we believethat we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are.”

12All the multitude kept silence, and they listened to Barnabasand Paul reporting what signsand wonders God had done among the nations through them.13After they were silent,James answered, “Brothers, listen to me.14Simeon has reported how God first visited the nations to take out of them a people for his name.15This agrees with the words of the prophets. As it is written,

16‘After these things I will return.I will again build the tabernacle of David, which has fallen.I will again build its ruins.I will set it up 17that the rest of men may seek after the Lord:all the Gentiles who are called by my name, says the Lord, who does all these things.’

18“All of God’s works are known to him from eternity.19Therefore my judgment isthat we don’t trouble those from among the Gentiles who turn to God,20but that we write to themthat they abstain from the pollution of idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood.21For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 96:1-2a, 2b-3, 10

1Sing to the Lord a new song!Sing to the Lord, all the earth.2Sing to the Lord!

2Bless his name!Proclaim his salvation from day to day!3Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.

10Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”The world is also established. It can’t be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.

GospelJohn 15:9-11

From the Gospel according to John

9Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you.Remain in my love.10If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandmentsand remain in his love.11I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you,and that your joy may be made full.

Eccli 31:8-11

Lesson from the book of Ecclesiasticus

Sir 31:8-11

Happy the man found without fault, who turns not aside after gain, nor puts his trust in money nor in treasures! Who is he, that we may praise him? For he has done wonders in his life. He has been tested by gold and come off safe, and this remains his glory forever; he could have sinned but did not, could have done evil but would not, so that his possessions are secure in the Lord, and the assembly of the Saints shall recount his alms.

Matt 19:27-29

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew

Matt 19:27-29.

At that time, Peter said to Jesus, Behold, we have left all and followed You; what then shall we have? And Jesus said to them, Amen I say to you that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man shall sit on the throne of His glory, shall also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting.

PrefacePrefatio

Paschalis

Easter

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, at all times to praise Thee, O Lord, but more gloriously especially in this season when Christ our Pasch was sacrificed. For He is the Lamb Who hath taken away the sins of the world: Who by dying hath destroyed our death: and by rising again hath restored us to life. And therefore with Angels and Archangels, with Thrones and Dominations, and with all the hosts of the heavenly army, we sing the hymn of Thy glory, evermore saying:
