First ReadingDaniel 12:1-3

From the Book of Daniel

1“At that time Michael will stand up,the great princewho stands for the children of your people. There will be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time.At that time, your people will be delivered—everyone who is found written in the book.2Many of thosewho sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.3Those who are wise will shine as the brightness of the expanse. Those who turn many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 16:5, 8, 9-10, 11

5The Lord assigned my portion and my cup.You made my lot secure.

8I have set the Lord always before me.Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.10For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.

11You will show me the path of life.In your presence is fullness of joy.In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.

Second ReadingHebrews 10:11-14, 18

From the Letter to the Hebrews

11Every priest indeed stands day by day servingand offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,12but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,13from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.14For by one offering he has perfected forever thosewho are being sanctified.

verses 15–17 are not read18Now where remission of these is,there is no more offering for sin.

GospelMark 13:24-32

From the Gospel according to Mark

24But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light,25the stars will be falling from the sky,and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.26Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.27Then he will send out his angels, and will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky.

28“Now from the fig tree, learn this parable. When the branch has now become tenderand produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near;29even so you also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near, at the doors.30Most certainly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things happen.31Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

32“But of that day or that hour no one knows—not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Thessalonicénses

1 Thess 1:2-10

Lesson from the first letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Thessalonians

1 Thess. 1:2-10

Brethren: We give thanks to God always for you all, continually making a remembrance of you in our prayers; being mindful before God our Father of your work of faith, and labor, and charity, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. We know, brethren, beloved of God, how you were chosen. For our Gospel was not delivered to you in word only, but in power also, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much fullness, as indeed you know what manner of men we have been among you for your sakes. And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in great tribulation, with joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became a pattern to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. For from you the word of the Lord has been spread abroad, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith in God has gone forth, so that we need say nothing further. For they themselves report concerning us how we entered among you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God, and to await from heaven Jesus, His Son, Whom He raised from the dead, Who has delivered us from the wrath to come.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Matthǽum.

Matt 13:31-35

Continuation of the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew

Matt 13:31-35

At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to the crowds: The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. This indeed is the smallest of all the seeds; but when it grows up it is larger than any herb and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and dwell in its branches. He told them another parable: The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and buried in three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened. All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables, and without parables he did not speak to them; that what was spoken by the prophet might be fulfilled, I will open My mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.

PrefacePrefatio

Holy Trinity

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who, together with Thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord: not in the oneness of a single Person, but in the Trinity of one substance. For what we believe by Thy revelation of Thy glory, the same do we believe of Thy Son, the same of the Holy Ghost, without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and everlasting Godhead, distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored. Which the Angels and Archangels, the Cherubim also and Seraphim do praise: who cease not daily to cry out, with one voice saying:
