First ReadingTitus 3:1-7

From the Letter of Paul to Titus

1Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities,to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,2to speak evil of no one,not to be contentious,to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men.3For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.4But when the kindness of God our Saviorand his love toward mankind appeared,5not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy,he saved us through the washing of regenerationand renewing by the Holy Spirit,6whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior;7that being justified by his grace,we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 23:1b-3a, 3bc-4, 5, 6

1The Lord is my shepherd;I shall lack nothing.2He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.3He restores my soul.

3He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil, for you are with me.Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5You prepare a table before mein the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil.My cup runs over.

6Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the Lord’s house forever.

GospelLuke 17:11-19

From the Gospel according to Luke

11As he was on his way to Jerusalem,he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee.12As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were lepers met him,who stood at a distance.13They lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

14When he saw them, he said to them,“Go and show yourselves to the priests.”As they went, they were cleansed.15One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.16He fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks;and he was a Samaritan.

17Jesus answered, “Weren’t the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?18Were there none found who returned to give glory to God,except this foreigner?”19Then he said to him, “Get up, and go your way.Your faith has healed you.”

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Timótheum

2 Tim 4:1-8

Lesson from the second letter of St Paul the Apostle to Timothy

2 Tim 4:1-8

Dearly beloved: I charge thee, before God and Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, by his coming, and his kingdom: Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine. For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables. But be thou vigilant, labour in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry. Be sober. For I am even now ready to be sacrificed: and the time of my dissolution is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. As to the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice, which the Lord the just judge will render to me in that day: and not only to me, but to them also that love his coming.

Eccli 45:9

Amávit eum Dóminus, et ornávit eum: stolam glóriæ índuit eum. Allelúja.

Ps 36:30-31

The mouth of the just shall meditate wisdom and his tongue shall speak judgment.

℣.The law of his God is in his heart, and his steps shall not be supplanted. Allelúja, allelúja

And he girded him about with a glorious girdle, and clothed him with a robe of glory, Allelúja.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Matthǽum

Matt 5:13-19

In illo témpore: Dixit Jesus discípulis suis: Vos estis sal terræ.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew

Matt 5:13-19

In that time Jesus said to His disciples: You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt lose its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is good for nothing any more but to be cast out, and to be trodden on by men. You are the light of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house. So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled. He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
