First ReadingMicah 7:14-15, 18-20

From the Book of Micah

14Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your heritage, who dwell by themselves in a forest.Let them feed in the middle of fertile pasture land,in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.15“As in the days of your coming out of the land of Egypt,I will show them marvelous things.” verses 16–17 are not read18Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever, because he delights in loving kindness.19He will again have compassion on us.He will tread our iniquities under foot. You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.20You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham,as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 85:2-4, 5-6, 7-8

2Lord, you have been favorable to your land. You have restored the fortunes of Jacob.3You have forgiven the iniquity of your people. You have covered all their sin.4You have taken away all your wrath. You have turned from the fierceness of your anger.

5Turn us, God of our salvation, and cause your indignation toward us to cease.6Will you be angry with us forever? Will you draw out your anger to all generations?

7Won’t you revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?8Show us your loving kindness, Lord.Grant us your salvation.

GospelMatthew 12:46-50

From the Gospel according to Matthew

46While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.47One said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”

48But he answered him who spoke to him, “Who is my mother?Who are my brothers?”49He stretched out his hand toward his disciples, and said, “Behold,my mother and my brothers!50For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven,he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Corínthios

1 Cor 12:2-11

Lesson from the first letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians

1 Cor. 12:2-11

Brethren: You know that when you were Gentiles, you went to dumb idols according as you were led. Wherefore I give you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God, says Anathema to Jesus. And no one can say Jesus is Lord, except in the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of ministries, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of workings, but the same God, Who works all things in all. Now the manifestation of the Spirit is given to everyone for profit. To one through the Spirit is given the utterance of wisdom; and to another the utterance of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; to another faith, in the same Spirit; to another the gift of healing, in the one Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the distinguishing of spirits; to another various kinds of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues. But all these things are the work of one and the same Spirit, Who allots to everyone according as He will.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 18:9-14

Jejúno bis in sábbato: décimas do ómnium, quæ possídeo.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 18:9-14

At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves as being just and despised others. Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and began to pray thus within himself: ‘O God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of men, robbers, dishonest, adulterers, or even like this publican. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I possess.’ But the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me the sinner!’ I tell you, this man went back to his home justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.

Ps 24:1-3

To You I lift up my soul, O Lord. In You, O my God, I trust; let me not be put to shame, let not my enemies exult over me. No one who waits for You shall be put to shame.

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
