3For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh;4though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If any other man thinksthat he has confidence in the flesh, I yet more:5circumcised the eighth day,of the stock of Israel,of the tribe of Benjamin,a Hebrew of Hebrews;concerning the law, a Pharisee;6concerning zeal, persecuting the assembly;concerning the righteousnesswhich is in the law, found blameless.

7However, I consider those thingsthat were gain to me as a loss for Christ.8Yes most certainly, and I count all things to be a loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus,my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ

2Sing to him, sing praises to him!Tell of all his marvelous works.3Glory in his holy name.Let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

4Seek the Lord and his strength.Seek his face forever more.5Remember his marvelous works that he has done:his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,

6you offspring of Abraham, his servant, you children of Jacob, his chosen ones.7He is the Lord, our God.His judgments are in all the earth.

1Now all the tax collectorsand sinners were coming close to him to hear him.2The Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, “This man welcomes sinners, and eats with them.”

3He told them this parable:4“Which of you men,if you had one hundred sheep and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wildernessand go after the one that was lost, until he found it?5When he has found it,he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing.6When he comes home,he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me,for I have found my sheep which was lost!’7I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous peoplewho need no repentance.

8“Or what woman, if she had ten drachma coins,if she lost one drachma coin, wouldn’t light a lamp, sweep the house, and seek diligently until she found it?9When she has found it,she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me,for I have found the drachma which I had lost!’10Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting.”
