10I will pour on David’s houseand on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of graceand of supplication.They will look to me whom they have pierced;and they shall mourn for him as one mourns for his only son,and will grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for his firstborn.11In that day there will be a great mourning in Jerusalem,like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddo.

2God, you are my God.I will earnestly seek you.My soul thirsts for you.My flesh longs for you,in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.

3So I have seen you in the sanctuary,watching your power and your glory.4Because your loving kindness is better than life,my lips shall praise you.

5So I will bless you while I live.I will lift up my hands in your name.6My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food.My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,

8For you have been my help.I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.9My soul stays close to you.Your right hand holds me up.

26For you are all children of God,through faith in Christ Jesus.27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.28There is neither Jew nor Greek,there is neither slave nor free man,there is neither male nor female;for you are all one in Christ Jesus.29If you are Christ’s,then you are Abraham’s offspringand heirs according to promise.

18As he was praying alone,the disciples were near him,and he asked them,“Who do the multitudes say that I am?”

19They answered, “‘John the Baptizer,’but others say, ‘Elijah,’and others, that one of the old prophets has risen again.”

20He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”

21But he warned themand commanded them to tell this to no one,22saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things,and be rejected by the elders,chief priests, and scribes,and be killed, and the third day be raised up.”

23He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me,let him deny himself,take up his cross, and follow me.24For whoever desires to save his life will lose it,but whoever will lose his life for my sake will save it.
