First ReadingIsaiah 25:6-10a

From the Book of Isaiah

6In this mountain, the Lord of Armies will make all peoples a feast of choice meat,a feast of choice wines,of choice meat full of marrow,of well refined choice wines.7He will destroy in this mountain the surface of the coveringthat covers all peoples, and the veil that is spread over all nations.8He has swallowed up death forever! The Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces. He will take the reproach of his people away from off all the earth, for the Lord has spoken it.

9It shall be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God!We have waited for him, and he will save us!This is the Lord!We have waited for him.We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!”10For the Lord’s hand will rest in this mountain.

Moab will be trodden down in his place, even like straw is trodden down in the water of the dunghill.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 23:1-3a, 3b-4, 5, 6

1The Lord is my shepherd;I shall lack nothing.2He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.3He restores my soul.

3He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil, for you are with me.Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5You prepare a table before mein the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil.My cup runs over.

6Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the Lord’s house forever.

GospelMatthew 15:29-37

From the Gospel according to Matthew

29Jesus departed from thereand came near to the sea of Galilee;and he went up on the mountain and sat there.30Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet.He healed them,31so that the multitude wonderedwhen they saw the mute speaking, the injured healed, the lame walking, and the blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.

32Jesus summoned his disciples and said,“I have compassion on the multitude, because they have continued with me now three daysand have nothing to eat.I don’t want to send them away fasting,or they might faint on the way.”

33The disciples said to him,“Where could we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”

34Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?”

They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”

35He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;36and he took the seven loaves and the fish.He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.37They all ate and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken piecesthat were left over.

Eccli 51:13-17

Lesson from the book of Ecclesiasticus

Sir 51:13-17.

O Lord, my God, You have exalted my dwelling place upon the earth, and I have prayed for death to pass away. I called upon the Lord, the Father of my Lord, that He would not abandon me in the day of my trouble, and in the time of the proud without help. I will ever praise Your name, and will praise it with thanksgiving; and my prayer was heard. And You saved me from destruction, and delivered me from the evil time. For this reason I thank You and I praise You, O Lord, our God.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Matthǽum

Matt 13:44-52

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew

Matt 13:44-52.

At that time, Jesus spoke this parable to His disciples: The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field; he who finds it hides it, and in his joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. When he finds a single pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net cast into the sea that gathered in fish of every kind. When it was filled, they hauled it out, and sitting down on the beach, they gathered the good fish into vessels, but threw away the bad. So will it be at the end of the world. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from among the just, and will cast them into the furnace of fire, where there will be the weeping, and the gnashing of teeth. Have you understood all these things? They said to Him, Yes. And He said to them, So then, every Scribe instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings forth from his storeroom things new and old.

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
