First ReadingWisdom 6:1-11

From the Book of Wisdom

1Hear therefore, you kings, and understand.Learn, you judges of the ends of the earth.2Give ear, you rulers who have dominion over many people, and make your boast in multitudes of nations,3because your dominion was given to you from the Lord, and your sovereignty from the Most High.He will search out your works, and will inquire about your plans,4because being officers of his kingdom, you didn’t judge rightly, nor did you keep the law,nor did you walk according to God’s counsel.5He will come upon you awfully and swiftly, because a stern judgment comes on those who are in high places.6For the man of low estate may be pardoned in mercy, but mighty men will be mightily tested.7For the Sovereign Lord of all will not be impressed with anyone, neither will he show deference to greatness;because it is he who made both small and great, and cares about them all;8but the scrutiny that comes upon the powerful is strict.9Therefore, my words are to you, O princes, that you may learn wisdom and not fall away.10For those who have kept the things that are holy in holiness will be made holy. Those who have been taught them will find what to say in defense.11Therefore set your desire on my words.Long for them, and you princes will be instructed.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 82:3-4, 6-7

3“Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless.Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.4Rescue the weak and needy.Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.”

6I said, “You are gods, all of you are sons of the Most High.7Nevertheless you shall die like men,and fall like one of the rulers.”

GospelLuke 17:11-19

From the Gospel according to Luke

11As he was on his way to Jerusalem,he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee.12As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were lepers met him,who stood at a distance.13They lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

14When he saw them, he said to them,“Go and show yourselves to the priests.”As they went, they were cleansed.15One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.16He fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks;and he was a Samaritan.

17Jesus answered, “Weren’t the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?18Were there none found who returned to give glory to God,except this foreigner?”19Then he said to him, “Get up, and go your way.Your faith has healed you.”

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Corínthios

1 Cor 4:9-14

Lesson from the first letter of St Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians

1 Cor. 4:9-14

Brethren: We have been made a spectacle to the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, but we are without honor! To this very hour we hunger and thirst, and we are naked and buffeted, and have no fixed abode. And we toil, working with our own hands. We are reviled and we bless, we are persecuted and we bear with it, we are maligned and we entreat, we have become as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all, even until now! I write these things not to put you to shame, but to admonish you as my dearest children, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

℣.The law of his God is in his heart, and his steps do not falter. Alleluia, alleluia.

Ps 111:1

Happy the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in His commands. Alleluia.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 12:32-34

In illo témpore: Dixit Jesus discípulis suis: Nolíte timére, pusíllus grex, quia complácuit Patri vestro dare vobis regnum.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 12:32-34

At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, Do not be afraid, little flock, for it has pleased your Father to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms. Make for yourselves purses that do not grow old, a treasure unfailing in heaven, where neither thief draws near nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.

Common

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
