From the Book of Isaiah
10Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him.He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin,he will see his offspring. He will prolong his daysand the Lord’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.11After the suffering of his soul,he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself;and he will bear their iniquities.
4For the Lord’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness.5He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of the Lord.
18Behold, the Lord’s eye is on those who fear him,on those who hope in his loving kindness,19to deliver their soul from death,to keep them alive in famine.
20Our soul has waited for the Lord.He is our help and our shield.
22Let your loving kindness be on us, Lord, since we have hoped in you.
From the Letter to the Hebrews
14Having then a great high priestwho has passed through the heavens,Jesus, the Son of God,let’s hold tightly to our confession.15For we don’t have a high priestwho can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.16Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercyand may find grace for help in time of need.
From the Gospel according to Mark
or Mark 10:42-45
35James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying,“Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”
36He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
37They said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit,one at your right handand one at your left hand, in your glory.”
38But Jesus said to them,“You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptismthat I am baptized with?”
39They said to him, “We are able.”
Jesus said to them,“You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptismthat I am baptized with;40but to sit at my right handand at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”
41When the ten heard it,they began to be indignant toward James and John.
42Jesus summoned them and said to them,“You know that theywho are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.43But it shall not be so among you,but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.44Whoever of you wants to become first among you shall be bondservant of all.45For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Ps 129:3-4
If You, O Lord, mark iniquities, Lord, who can stand? But with You is forgiveness, O God of Israel.
Ps 129:1-2
Out of the depths I cry to You, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice!
Glory Be to the Father…
If You, O Lord, mark iniquities, Lord, who can stand? But with You is forgiveness, O God of Israel.
O God, our refuge and our strength, the very source of holiness, heed the devout prayers of Your Church, and grant that what we seek in faith we may obtain in fact.
For the Propagation of the Faith
O God, who desirest that all men should be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth: send forth, we beseech thee, labourers into thy harvest, and grant them grace to speak thy word with all trust, that thy words may run and be glorified, and that all nations may know thee, the one true God, and him whom thou hast sent, Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord.

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Philippénses
Phil 1:6-11
Lesson from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Philippians
Phil 1:6-11
Brethren: We are confident in the Lord Jesus that He Who has begun a good work in you will bring it to perfection until the day of Christ Jesus. And I have the right to feel so about you all, because I have you in my heart, all of you, alike in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the Gospel, as sharers in my joy. For God is my witness how I long for you all in the heart of Christ Jesus. And this I pray, that your charity may more and more abound in knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the better things, that you may be upright and without offense unto the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of justice, through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Ps 132:1-2
Ps 113:11
Ps 132:1-2
Behold how good it is, and how pleasant where brethren dwell as one!
℣.It is as when the precious ointment upon the head runs down over the beard, the beard of Aaron.
Alleluia, alleluia.
Ps 113:11
Those who fear the Lord trust in the Lord: He is their help and their shield. Alleluia.
Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Matthǽum
Matt 22:15-21
Cógnita autem Jesus nequítia eórum, ait: Quid me tentátis, hypócritæ? Osténdite mihi numísma census. At illi obtulérunt ei denárium.
Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
Matt 22:15-21
At that time, the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might trap Jesus in His talk. And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that You are truthful, and that You teach the way of God in truth, and that You care naught for any man; for You do not regard the person of men. Tell us, therefore, what do You think: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? Show Me the coin of the tribute. So they offered Him a denarius. Then Jesus said to them, Whose are this image and the inscription? They said to Him, Caesar’s. Then He said to them, Render, therefore, to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.
Esth 14:12; 14:13
Recordáre mei, Dómine, omni potentátui dóminans: et da sermónem rectum in os meum, ut pláceant verba mea in conspéctu príncipis.
Esther 14:12-13
Remember me, O Lord, You Who rule above all power: and give a well-ordered speech in my mouth, that my words may be pleasing in the sight of the prince.
Grant, O merciful God, that this saving sacrifice may always free us from sin, and protect us from all that works against us.
For the Propagation of the Faith
Turn thine eyes, O God, our protector, and look upon the face of thy Christ, who hath given himself as a ransom for all, and grant that from the rising of the sun even unto the setting thereof thy name may be great among the Gentiles, and that in every place there may be sacrifice, and a clean oblation offered to thy name.
Through the same Christ our Lord…
Holy Trinity
It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God; Who, together with Thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord: not in the oneness of a single Person, but in the Trinity of one substance. For what we believe by Thy revelation of Thy glory, the same do we believe of Thy Son, the same of the Holy Ghost, without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and everlasting Godhead, distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored. Which the Angels and Archangels, the Cherubim also and Seraphim do praise: who cease not daily to cry out, with one voice saying:
Ps 16:6
Ego clamávi, quóniam exaudísti me, Deus: inclína aurem tuam et exáudi verba mea.
Ps 16:6
I call upon You, for You will answer me, O God; incline Your ear to me; hear my word.
Súmpsimus, Dómine, sacri dona mystérii, humíliter deprecántes: ut, quæ in tui commemoratiónem nos fácere præcepísti, in nostræ profíciant infirmitátis auxílium:
Pro Propagatione Fidei
Redemptiónis nostræ múnere vegetáti: quǽsumus, Dómine; ut hoc perpétuæ salútis auxílio, fides semper vera profíciat.
Per Dominum…
We who have received the gift of Your blessed sacrament, O Lord, humbly pray that what You have taught us to do in commemoration of You, may profit and help us in our weakness.
For the Propagation of the Faith
Revived by this atoning sacrifice, we beseech thee, O Lord, that by means of this help to eternal salvation true Faith may ever advance.
Through our Lord…
