From the Letter of Paul to the Colossians

1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God,and Timothy our brother,2to the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae:Grace to you and peace from God our Fatherand the Lord Jesus Christ.

3We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,4having heard of your faith in Christ Jesusand of the love which you have toward all the saints,5because of the hopewhich is laid up for you in the heavens,of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News6which has come to you, even as it is in all the worldand is bearing fruit and growing,as it does in you also, since the day you heardand knew the grace of God in truth,7even as you learned from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on your behalf,8who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 52:10, 11

10But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house.I trust in God’s loving kindness forever and ever.

11I will give you thanks forever, because you have done it.I will hope in your name, for it is good,in the presence of your saints.

GospelLuke 4:38-44

From the Gospel according to Luke

38He rose up from the synagogueand entered into Simon’s house.Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him to help her.39He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her.Immediately she rose up and served them.40When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him;and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.41Demons also came out of many, crying out and saying,“You are the Christ, the Son of God!”Rebuking them, he didn’t allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.

42When it was day, he departedand went into an uninhabited placeand the multitudes looked for him,and came to him, and held on to him,so that he wouldn’t go away from them.43But he said to them,“I must preach the good news of God’s Kingdom to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent.”44He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.

EpistleLectio

Lectio prima Sancti Pauli apóstoli ad Thessalonicénses

1 Thess 2:2-8

Lesson from the first letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Thessalonians

1 Thess. 2:2-8

Brethren: We had confidence in our God to preach to you the gospel of God amid much anxiety. For our exhortation was not from error, nor from impure motives, nor from guile; but, as approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak not as pleasing men, but God, Who proves our hearts. For at no time have we used words of flattery, as you know, nor any pretext for avarice, God is witness, nor have we sought glory from men, neither from you nor from others. Although as the apostles of Christ we could have claimed a position of honor among you, still while in your midst we were as children, as if a nurse were cherishing her own children. So, we, in our love for you, would gladly have imparted to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own souls, because you had become most dear to us.

Ps 22:5-6

℣.Paras mihi mensam, inúngis óleo caput meum, calix meus ubérrimus est. Allelúia.

Ps 39:10-11

I announced Your justice in the vast assembly; I did not restrain my lips as You, O Lord, know.

℣.Your justice I kept not hid within my heart; Your faithfulness and Your salvation I have spoken of. Alleluia, alleluia.

Ps 22:5-6

℣.You spread the table before me; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Alleluia.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia Sancti evangélii secúndum Joánnem

Joannes 21:15-17

In illo témpore, dicit Jesus Simóni Petro: Simon Joánnis, díligis me plus his? Dicit ei: Etiam Dómine, tu scis quia amo te. Dicit ei: Pasce agnos meos. ¶ Dicit ei íterum: Simon Joánnis, díligis me? Ait illi: Etiam Dómine, tu scis quia amo te. Dicit ei: Pasce agnos meos. Dicit ei tértio: Simon Joánnis, amas me? Contristátus est Petrus, quia dixit ei tértio: Amas me? et dixit ei: Dómine, tu ómnia nosti, tu scis quia amo te. Dixit ei: Pasce oves meas.

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to John

John 21:15-17

At that time, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these do? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs. He said to him a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs. And third time He said to him, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to him for the third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know all things, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My sheep.

Common

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
