First ReadingHosea 10:1-3, 7-8, 12

From the Book of Hosea

1Israel is a luxuriant vine that produces his fruit.

According to the abundance of his fruit he has multiplied his altars. As their land has prospered, they have adorned their sacred stones.2Their heart is divided. Now they will be found guilty. He will demolish their altars. He will destroy their sacred stones.3Surely now they will say, “We have no king; for we don’t fear the Lord;and the king, what can he do for us?” verses 4–6 are not read7Samaria and her king float awaylike a twig on the water.8The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, will be destroyed. The thorn and the thistle will come up on their altars. They will tell the mountains, “Cover us!” and the hills, “Fall on us!” verses 9–11 are not read12Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to kindness.Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and rains righteousness on you.

Responsorial PsalmPsalm 105:2-3, 4-5, 6-7

2Sing to him, sing praises to him!Tell of all his marvelous works.3Glory in his holy name.Let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

4Seek the Lord and his strength.Seek his face forever more.5Remember his marvelous works that he has done:his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,

6you offspring of Abraham, his servant, you children of Jacob, his chosen ones.7He is the Lord, our God.His judgments are in all the earth.

GospelMatthew 10:1-7

From the Gospel according to Matthew

1He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits,to cast them out,and to heal every disease and every sickness.2Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter;Andrew, his brother;James the son of Zebedee;John, his brother;3Philip; Bartholomew;Thomas; Matthew the tax collector;James the son of Alphaeus;Lebbaeus, who was also called Thaddaeus;4Simon the Zealot;and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

5Jesus sent these twelve out and commanded them, saying, “Don’t go among the Gentiles, and don’t enter into any city of the Samaritans.6Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.7As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’

EpistleLectio

Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Hebrǽos

Hebr 7:23-27

Lesson from the letter of St Paul the Apostle to the Jews

Heb 7:23-27

Brethren: The priests were numerous, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office; but Jesus, because he continues forever, has an everlasting priesthood. Therefore He is able at all times to save those who come to God through Him, since He lives always to make intercession for them. For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and become higher than the heavens. He does not need to offer sacrifices daily - as the other priests did - first for His own sins, and then for the sins of the people; for this latter He did once for all in offering up Himself, Jesus Christ our Lord.

GradualGraduale

Ps 131:16-17

Sacerdótes ejus índuam salutári: et sancti ejus exsultatióne exsultábunt.

Ps 109:4

Jurávit Dóminus, et non poenitébit eum: Tu es sacérdos in ætérnum, secúndum órdinem Melchísedech. Allelúja.

Ps 131:16-17

Her priests I will clothe with salvation, and her faithful ones shall shout merrily for joy.

℣.In her will I make a horn to sprout forth for David; I will place a lamp for My anointed. Alleluia, alleluia.

Ps 109:4

The Lord has sworn, and He will not repent: You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchisedec. Alleluia.

GospelEvangelium

Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Lucam

Luc 10:1-9

Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 10:1-9

At that time, the Lord appointed seventy-two others, and sent them forth two by two before Him into every town and place where He Himself was about to come. And He said to them, The harvest indeed is great, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers into His harvest. Go. Behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves. Carry neither purse, nor wallet, nor sandals, and greet no one on the way. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’ And if a son of peace be there, your peace will rest upon him; but if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they have; for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. And whatever town you enter, and they receive you, eat what is set before you, and cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’

Common

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
